Gravitational wave astronomy is one of the most exciting recent developments in science — a new way of observing the Universe that has been decades in the making, and full of surprises that are still unfolding. I love sharing it with anyone who’ll listen.
Invite me to speak
I give talks and presentations on gravitational waves and astronomy to a wide range of audiences. Past talks have been for:
- Astronomy societies and clubs
- Schools and universities
- Science festivals and public events (including the Glasgow Science Festival)
- Community groups and general audiences (U3A groups, Café Scientifique, pub science nights)
I tailor each talk to the audience — from accessible introductions requiring no prior knowledge, through to more technical presentations for students or fellow scientists.
I’m happy to give talks online, or in person for events in Scotland. For events further afield, please get in touch to discuss.
To invite me to speak, email me.
Past public talks
A selection of past outreach events is listed on my public talks page.
Teaching
I also teach formally at the University of Glasgow and through the Scottish Universities Physics Alliance, covering topics including gravitational wave detection, multimessenger astronomy, and research software engineering.
More about my formal teaching is on my teaching page.
